About

Lil’ Ol’ Me

Sydney Borchers is a professional actress born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. For as long as she can remember, she has always loved entertaining people and bringing smiles to others’ faces. For the longest time, she always imagined herself winning American Idol and being the next Carrie Underwood. However, her life changed forever when her school put on the musical Music Man and opened up auditions to the elementary school. Sydney played the role of Amaryllis and her life has never been the same.

Sydney’s passion for theatre only continued to grow and she knew this was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Sydney was accepted into the first ever Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Liberty University and graduated in May 2022.

While at Liberty, Sydney had the honor of portraying Dorothy Brock in 42nd St, Nancy in Oliver!, the Chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, Sister Aloysius in Doubt, and more. For her portrayal of Vera Claythorne in And Then There Were None, she received an Irene Ryan nomination from the Kennedy Center. Sydney made her professional debut with Alluvion Stage Company in their production of Will Rogers Follies and has worked on many beautiful and exciting projects with them ever since, including Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Monteen in Jason Robert Brown’s epic musical Parade, and Lucy Grant in Bright Star to name a few.

Sydney spent her first summer stock contract as a performance apprentice with Theatre Aspen, Artistic Director Jed Bernstein. She had the pleasure of playing Agnes in Gypsy under the direction of Hannah Ryan (Resident Director of Broadway’s Hamilton), choreographed by Hollie Wright (Alvin Ailey), and musically directed by Andy Einhorn (Broadway’s Hello Dolly! and Carousel). Sydney also portrayed the role of Liesl von Trapp in The Aspen Music Festival and Theatre Aspen’s concert version of The Sound of Music, alongside Broadway stars Christy Altomare and Brandon Victor Dixon. The production was under the direction by Marc Bruni (Broadway’s Beautiful – The Carole King Musical), music direction/conducting by Andy Einhorn (Broadway’s Hello, Dolly!), choreography by two-time Tony Award® nominee Denis Jones (Broadway’s Tootsie).

Sydney is currently living in NYC and is looking forward to pursuing her dreams on “The Great White Way.”
